Job explainers.
Honest, day-in-the-life explanations of a wide range of jobs — professional, technical, creative, trades.
For schools
You have a statutory careers duty, eight Gatsby Benchmarks to evidence, and — realistically — one careers adviser trying to reach hundreds of students. Personal guidance ends up rationed to a single short meeting. Waypoint gives every student, including the quiet ones who never ask, a knowledgeable adviser they can talk to whenever they need one.
Honest, day-in-the-life explanations of a wide range of jobs — professional, technical, creative, trades.
Role-played tasters of what a day in a chosen job feels like, followed by a debrief on what they did and didn't like.
Both university and apprenticeship routes, with the specific UK next steps sequenced properly.
A consistent, always-available touchpoint for every student across every year group.
Up-to-date, honest information on UK routes, salaries, and application cycles built into every conversation.
Personalised guidance at scale — including for students who wouldn't otherwise book an appointment.
Complements one-to-one adviser meetings by preparing students for them and following up between them.
Evidence of preparation for adult life and next-stage decisions, on the record and available per student.
Waypoint is not a replacement for your careers adviser or your existing platforms (Unifrog and similar). It complements them: students come to their next appointment with better questions, and use platforms like Unifrog with a clearer sense of what they're actually looking for. Advisers spend less time explaining routes and more time on the conversations that need a human.
Age-appropriate design. Built to the ICO Children's Code from the ground up. Under-18 accounts default to the strictest privacy settings, marketing is off, and the tone and content are calibrated accordingly.
Crisis signposting. Every conversation has crisis handling built in. If a student expresses distress or risk, the app pauses careers advice and signposts Samaritans (116 123), Shout (text 85258), and Papyrus HOPELINE247 (0800 068 4141), plus a nudge to speak to a trusted adult.
Transparency about the technology. Waypoint's conversations are powered by a large language model, constrained by expert-authored content and explicit guardrails. We think schools should be told that plainly, so we're telling you before you ask.
DPIA and DPA. A Data Protection Impact Assessment and a Data Processing Agreement are available on request as part of pilot onboarding.
What we do not do. No advertising. No selling of student data. No behavioural profiling for third parties. Students can see and delete anything the app remembers about them.
We're working with a small number of sixth forms this academic year. Pilot terms include onboarding support, aggregated engagement reporting, and a direct line to the founder. [FOUNDER: pilot terms]
